ACTIVITIES-RELATED

Q1:

Will there be a map of the campus provided? I have not been back to school in a while and I am afraid I am not familiar with the places and where to go for activities.
Fret not! We will have many friendly student ambassadors (FACEs) to help you around. Campus map will also be available on site.

Q2:

Where can I find the list of programmes for this event?
You can find them here. Do come and join us for the activities!

Q3:

Will the sports tournaments be by different age groups?
There are differentiated categories for the sports tournaments. We welcome Victorians of all ages to join us for a day of fun!

Q4:

Where is the start line for the cross-country run?
Please refer to the cross-country run route here.

Q5:

Is there a list of permitted shoes for the cross-country run?
No, you can come in any shoes that you are comfortable with.

Q6:

Can I join the college tour only at specific locations I am interested in?
You can let our friendly student ambassadors (FACEs) know what you are interested to find out and where you want to tour, or you can simply let them guide you!

Q7:

Can I walk-in for the kids' activities on the day itself?
Yes, you can walk in for the kids' activities on a first-come-first-served basis. However, you will need to register for the VJC Amazing Race by 31 December 2022.

REGISTRATION

Q1:

Do I need to register for this VJC Homecoming event?
No registration is required for the VJC Homecoming event, unless you are participating in specific activities, as stated in the Programme Line-up. However do register as an alumni to keep in touch!

Q2:

Do I need to pay for entrance fees or the activities?
There is no entry fee, but there are food & drinks, and merchandise available for purchase.

Q3:

For the activities that require registration, when is the deadline?
For the activities that require registration such as cross-country, football, floorball, pickleball and the VJC Amazing Race, do register by 31 December 2022 so we can better plan these activities. For badminton and tennis courts bookings, they are on first-come-first-served basis.

Q4:

How do I register for the sports tournaments? Do I need to pay to register?
Yes, you will have to register for the sports tournaments, but they are free!

Q5:

Can I register my team members for the sports tournaments?
You can include their names in the online registration form. Alternatively, you can submit their names when you come for the tournament on 7 January 2023!

Q6:

I have registered for a team but we are unable to participate due to a few members getting COVID. Can we withdraw if we are unable to get substitute members?
You can replace any member with an alumni. If you are unable to find a substitute and wish to withdraw, please contact Wei Quan for football and Jonathan for floorball. For the VJC Amazing Race, please contact us at contactus@vjcalumni.com. We thank all alumni for adhering to the national protocol for COVID management.

How do I book a badminton/tennis court? Is there a limit to the number of users per court?

Q8:

Do I need to bring anything to verify my identity as an alumni?
There is no need to verify your identity as an alumni. However, do join our alumni family here!

Q9:

Do I need to register for the college tour?
You can register for the tour at the canteen booth between 8AM and 12PM. The last tour session will end by 1PM.

Q10:

How do I register for the VJC Amazing Race? Is it free?
You can register for the VJC Amazing Race here, and it is free! Do make sure that there is at least an (alumni) adult in the team.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

Q1:

What are the food and drinks provided?
There will be prata sponsored by OVA, available on a first-come-first-served basis. The canteen and cafe will also be serving food and drinks at very affordable prices! You can pay in cash or by PayNow! and PayLah!

Q2:

Do I need to bring money to pay for food and drinks at the event?
There will be prata provided for free by OVA (first-come-first-served) from 8-11AM. You can purchase other food items at the canteen or cafe at very affordable prices! You can pay in cash or by PayNow! and PayLah!

Q3:

What is the canteen operation hours? Will there be lunch available?
The canteen stalls will be open from 8AM to 1PM.

SAFETY MEASURES AND COVID MANAGEMENT

Q1:

Will there be medical assistance on standby?
There will be an ambulance on site and first aid kits will be readily available.

Q2:

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend this event?
Since 10 October 2022, Vaccination-Differentiated Safe Management Measures (VDS) have been lifted. However, we will follow the national protocol for COVID management measures and will update on the website and on social media if there are any changes.

OTHERS

Q1:

Where can I park my vehicle on the event day? Can I park in VJC? Is parking free?
Limited free parking in VJC is available on a first-come-first-served basis. When the carpark is full, please park at Marine Terrace, at the open carpark near Blocks 1 and 2. The side gate at the tennis court will be open to facilitate your entry. The tennis side gate is a short walk from Marine Terrace.

Q2:

What is the dress code for this event?
Do come in your VJC attire if you still have them! Exclusive alumni t-shirts and merchandise will be on sale online very soon. You may also purchase alumni t-shirts on the event day at our alumni booth.

For those who registered for sports and games, do come in appropriate sports gear.

Q3:

Are there designated areas for me to smoke in VJC?
Kindly note that VJC is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited campus wide to protect the students and event-goers from the harmful health effects of second-hand tobacco smoke. We thank you for your kind cooperation.
